Syed Zafar, Partner at Zafar Francuz & Company, is a Florida CPA. He has previously served as Treasurer of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants South Dade Chapter. He is a graduate of Florida International University's school of Accounting with a specialization in Information Systems.

Syed's practice is focused on financial management and taxation. He provides day to day tax and business advisory services to businesses, their owners and staff. He specializes in family owned and operated businesses, distributors & wholesalers, entertainment industry professionals, real estate and construction financing, and restaurant franchise operations.

With the major changes with IRS regulations in regards to attracting foreign investment, Syed has worked extensively to structure the most efficient tax structure based on the type of investment. He has developed tax strategies for various U.S. based investments such as commercial shopping centers, franchises (McDonald's, Denny's and Taco Bell) as well as general investments in real property (multi-family apartment buildings, part-year vacation properties).

Syed worked for Gerson, Preston & Robinson, Certified Public Accountants, and provided tax and assurance services. Upon leaving, Syed then worked for the Related Group of Florida as a Project Controller. He managed the financial operations of several high rise residential towers during construction. Syed's specialty at the Related Group was corresponding to the financial teams of investors, banks and prospective investors that required updates for each individual construction project.
